In 1976, the San Francisco Giants baseball team was bought by Labatt Breweries & CIBC with plans to move it to Toronto.
A logo was created for the Toronto Giants but the mayor of San Francisco stopped the sale in court and kept the team in the Bay Area.
Toronto then got its own club — the Blue Jays entered MLB in 1977.
